Alright, I've done a few things on the blog, but have I told you all about what I like to do? Actually?
Shit. Apparently not. Well, let's get started, then.
At my core, I am a gamer. My first ever video game was Super Mario 64 and I beat it when I was five years old. Regrettably, I sobbed uncontrollably when I beat the game because I didn't know that all you had to do was restart the console to play it again. I thought my copy was toast. In the modern day, I find myself playing games like Overwatch, Final Fantasy XIV Online, Pokemon and yes, even Fortnite. We're past the phase of hating on people for playing it, right?
I design tabletop card games for fun. They typically end up staying as prototypes, but one project, Tales of Naomi, I got to the playtesting phase and I never felt more alive. Designing a game and then watching to see how people interact with it is arguably the best part of this entire process. Although, I do wish I could not spread myself out so thin and actually FINISH a project.
I've dabbled in DJ'ing! I did my sets in VRChat and I think I have a really good handle on noting how people feel and adjusting the energy to match. I even uploaded one of my sets to YouTube, which I will attach to this post! At first, I was incredibly nervous about making mistakes. I think what really helped was seeing the big guys on the scene and realizing that even THEY fuck up and they've been doing this for years. People, in VRChat at least, are a lot more understanding when it comes to beginners. Honestly, this set was my first and everyone had a blast!
Just yesterday, I decided to put my singing voice on for the first time. I have attached this small cover of "Alicia" from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that I made using entirely my voice. I wanted it to have this feeling of dissonance while resolving into unity. I posted it to a few servers on Discord and quite honestly I was expecting a few "lols" and expected it to be one and done. But people genuinely enjoyed it, so I'm putting it here too. Maybe I'll do more of these and make a special section for it!
Anyways, that's just a few of the things I do in my day-to-day life. My brain operates on another level sometimes that lets me pretty much do anything I can put my mind to! Except for Vtuber rigging, which sucks terribly and I can't believe someone rigged my Vtuber model in TWO DAYS. Bullshit! A skill that I can't wrap my head around!
